Update at 1700 PST -- Unidentified SOHO Object (01-September 03)
I first released this story at 0100 PST. A few hours later I recieved the following E-mail from YOWUSA reader Bob Chapman in Australia.
From: "bob chapman" To: "YOWUSA Mail" Subject: SOHO photo as requested Date: Mon, 1 Sep 2003 18:38:48 +0800 Marshall,
You asked for any recent SOHO photos that may have something of interest. While they were still operating a few days ago and the three planets were moving ever so slowly through the
frames this peeked out from behind the arm that holds the central disc in place. Cheers Bob
Bob attached a LASCO C3 taken on 28-August-2003. This SOHO image clearly shows an unidentified object that is too large to be a star. I ran this
past Jacco van der Worp and he advised that he could not find the object Bob mentions in his current star chart.
When I first published this article, the
SOHO web site was completely down. However, it is up now and showing the following LASCO C3 image.
And now this is where it gets interesting. The 29-August-2003 image has been edited in the area of the unidentified ‘winged' object shown in the 9
-August-2003 image, as shown in the comparison composite image below.
So who did the editing? Bob Chapman in Australia or NASA after the SOHO site went down last night? Curious minds what to know.
Update: Phobos Observed on 22-Aug-03 by Austrian Astronomer (02-September-2003)
In the first release of this article, we asked our readers to submit an observation data from independent sources with regards to Phobos, because we openly wondered if the unidentified ‘winged' object in the
SOHO image noted above could be that of Phobos.
YOWUSA reader Dan McBeth sent us a link to a newly posted page with an independent observation of Mars and its satellites. The astronomer, Johannes Schedler, maintains his own personal observatory in Austria.

Hats off to Dan and Johannes Schedler. Nonetheless, if anyone has any other independent observation reports of Phobos, please send them to our attention at
mail@yowusa.com.
Also note, this still leaves the issue of the unidentified ‘winged' object in the SOHO image open.
Update: Paul Vigay Alleges Crop Circle Conspiracy (02-September-03)
The following message from crop circle researcher Paul Vigay was posted on the SkyOpen - Skywatch International message board on July 23, 2003.

Subject: Crop Circle News - 18th July 2003 Rather worrying developments in the crop circle community...
I'm rather dismayed to have verified some worrying conspiracies and threats going around the crop circle research world. Although I always endeavour to keep not only this website but also my entire research free from
'political bias' or 'personalities', I feel that there are some goings-on afoot in the crop circle world, that could have wide-reaching implications for the entire future of impartial, scientific research and
investigations of crop circles. To this end, I am conducting a thorough and detailed investigation into recent events. I'm very concerned that dedicated researcher and
photographer Lucy Pringle has received not only verbal and physical threats to herself but also a number of pilots and airfields have received threats too. From my own investigations, there are discrepancies with
alleged 'official' letters from the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), threatening airfields with regards to the continued flying of Lucy and the actual text of government legislation pertaining to Air Navigation
Order 1995 (amended 2000 & 2003), which are currently in my possession. This could have serious implications for ANYONE wishing to take aerial photos of formations.
It seems to me that not only do the perpetrators of this plot seek to gain a monopoly on crop circle photographs, but it would also seem to appear that various crop formation designs are being 'commissioned'
in advance for either monetary gain or to destroy research into 'genuine' formations, by controlling the flow of information to the public. My interest in crop circles has been and will always be
to promote impartial, unbiased and free (as in free speech) information regarding the world wide crop circle mystery. And to this end, I will support Lucy Pringle's fight to continue taking her high quality
aerial photos - and indeed, will fight to help anyone who wishes to fly in order to see the crop designs from the air. I think 'the powers that be' are losing control over
the hearts and minds of the population - people are beginning to wake up, smell the coffee and open their eyes to the wool being pulled over them. I believe that we are about to see the walls of information
suppression and control start to crumble - which means those with a vested interest are panicking and beginning to become agitated at losing their control.

This allegation by Paul Vigay, is critical in terms of the date, July 18, 2003. This date precedes the August 29, 2003 black helicopter report by Linda Moulton Howe discussed above by 6 weeks! What this means (pending
Vigay's published findings) is that Linda's black helicopter report is not an isolated incident, but rather, a continuation of a long standing interruption of crop circle research efforts in England.
